    Great First Mountain Bike

    About Me

    Comments:

I was looking for my first "Real Bike" in a mountain bike style. This bike fits the bill. It offers a high build quality with decent components. I choose it because it's price was in the $500.00 and under category and I have always liked bikes made by Giant. The bike feels agile and confident on the trails. I plan on upgrading the front fork to a higher quality one that has remote lockout and an air spring with rebound. I also may upgrade it to hydraulic disc brakes. The jury is still out on the upgrades I feel that with a better front fork the bike would go from good to very good. The hydraulic brakes may be a personal choice I've heard good and bad things about them. All in all if you are looking for a good entry level mountain bike for under $500.00 this is a great choice. You can always spend an additional $200-$300 on some upgrades and have a very good hard tail mountain bike that can handle pretty much anything you might do with it short of extremely aggressive trails and of course it is not a down hill bike. I live in Florida so I'm not concerned with downhill or anything SUPER aggressive. Great Bike! go....GIANT!
